ELIZABETHAN LIVING HISTORY
May 28 @ 11:30 am - 4:30 pm
Join us for a full weekend of merriment and mystery!
Renowned for the authenticity of their demonstrations, our wonderful reenactors and historians will transport you back in time to the Elizabethan Era where they abandon modern comforts and live as people did when Queen Elizabeth I was alive.
There will be a wide range of displays and activities sure to enthral adults and children alike. In the gardens, our musketeers will demonstrate how real muskets were used and fired. If you’re interested in seeing something just as deadly but without the bang, then don’t miss the traditional archery displays that take place on the lawns.
Inside the Hall, the ladies of the kitchen will reveal the secrets of historic cookery and the making of herbal medicines. In the Great Chamber will be music recitals and dancing, whilst in many of the other rooms you will find costumed characters ready to show off their skills in ancient games and locating secret chambers. There will also be an opportunity to witness Elizabethan pursuivants as they hunt for a Catholic priest in the Hall.
